Move a store from MyOrderBox POS to MyFoodFast POS

Last verified: 2026-11-06

Before you start

Installing and pairing MyFoodFast POS doesn't move your orders. Until you switch on Send orders to MyFoodFast POS, online and delivery-platform orders keep going to MyOrderBox POS, even when MyFoodFast POS is paired and open.

The switch covers the whole store. When it's on, every online order goes to MyFoodFast POS, and MyOrderBox POS stops getting them. You can't split orders between the two.

Check these before go-live day:

  • MyFoodFast POS is installed and paired on the till. If not, follow Start here: set up MyFoodFast POS.
  • Your staff can sign in with their PINs and know how to start a shift.
  • Receipt and kitchen printers print a Test print from MyFoodFast POS.

Step 1: Pick a quiet time

Switch over when the store is open but quiet, for example before lunch. Staff can then watch the first order arrive.

Before you switch, look at the future orders on MyOrderBox POS. Orders that are already on MyOrderBox POS stay there and don't move across. Write down any that are due later, and make sure they still get made.

Step 2: Open MyFoodFast POS on the till

  1. Open MyFoodFast POS on the till.
  2. Sign in with your staff PIN and tap Start shift.

In Back Office, go to Setup > In-Store > POS Terminals. The Last seen column for that terminal should say Active a few seconds or minutes ago. If it shows hours ago, the app isn't open or isn't online yet.

Note: Setup > In-Store > POS Terminals belongs to your store. If Back Office says Please select a store first, choose your store at the top of the page.

Step 3: Switch on Send orders to MyFoodFast POS

  1. In Setup > In-Store > POS Terminals, find Send orders to MyFoodFast POS at the top of the page.
  2. Turn the switch on. It saves straight away.

From now on, new online orders go to MyFoodFast POS. You can close MyOrderBox POS once you've dealt with the orders that were already on it.

Step 4: Check the first order arrives

  1. Place a small test order on your website, or wait for the next real order.
  2. Check it appears on MyFoodFast POS and that the kitchen ticket prints.
  3. Delivery-platform orders (Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat) arrive the same way, so check the next one too.

Sync settings

The Sync settings button on the Terminals page sends a terminal's own settings to the POS. You set these with the pencil icon next to the terminal. You don't need it to go live. Use it only after you change a terminal's settings: save your changes, then click Sync settings. The Settings sync column shows when the POS has confirmed them.

If something goes wrong

Orders still arrive on MyOrderBox POS Check Send orders to MyFoodFast POS is on in Setup > In-Store > POS Terminals. Orders placed before you switched stay on MyOrderBox POS.

No orders arrive on MyFoodFast POS Check the terminal's Last seen time in Setup > In-Store > POS Terminals. If it isn't recent, the POS is closed or offline. Open the app and check the internet connection.

You need to go back to MyOrderBox POS Turn Send orders to MyFoodFast POS off, then open MyOrderBox POS. New orders go back to it straight away. Orders already on MyFoodFast POS stay there, so finish them first.
