What the banner means
A red bar across the top of the POS reading Display size is set too large for this screen means the Android display size on the till has been increased. That makes the screen behave as if it were much smaller than it is, and the POS cannot fit its controls.
The banner stays until the setting is put back. The till still works, but parts of the screen may look cramped.
How to fix it
- Leave the POS and open the Android Settings app on the till.
- Go to Display, then Display size (on some tills this is under Display > Advanced or Accessibility > Display size and text).
- Move the slider back to Default.
- Return to the POS. The banner disappears on its own.
Note: Changing Font size is fine and does not trigger the banner; only Display size affects the layout.
If the banner remains after the display size is on Default, the screen itself is narrower than the POS supports. Contact support with the till model and the store name.
