Working through signal dead zones
Drivers often pass through areas with poor or no mobile signal. The MyFoodFast Driver App keeps working when this happens — status updates are saved on the phone and sent automatically once the connection returns.
What the driver sees
When a driver swipes On the Way, Arrived, or Delivered without a connection, the app shows:
No connection — Status saved — it will be sent automatically when you are back online.
The driver can carry on as normal: the order moves to the next step on their screen, and they can continue through the rest of their deliveries, including marking them as delivered.
What the store sees
While the driver is offline, the order status in Back Office and on the POS will not change yet. The saved updates are sent automatically, in the right order, as soon as the driver's phone reconnects — usually within a few seconds of regaining signal. The app also retries every 15 minutes in the background.
Note: If an order's status looks out of date, the driver may simply be in a dead zone. The status will catch up automatically — there is no need for the driver to re-do anything.
If the driver is signed out unexpectedly
If a driver's access is removed in Back Office, the app now signs the driver out automatically the next time it talks to the server, returning them to the sign-in screen. Previously the app would appear to work but nothing would update.
Keeping the app up to date
If a version of the Driver App is too old to be supported, the app shows an Update required screen with a button that opens the app store. The driver must update before continuing.
