Reactivate a store whose subscription has expired

Last verified: 2026-07-16

When a store expires

Each store has its own subscription. If a store's subscription lapses — for example you opened a new store but haven't added a card to it yet — the store is paused, not removed. You stay in control: the store is still listed for you to reactivate by updating its payment details.

You'll know a store has expired when:

  • In the store switcher at the top of the page, the store is tagged with a red Expired label.
  • When that store is selected, a red banner appears across the top: "This store's subscription has lapsed. Update your payment details to reactivate it."
  • The sidebar menu for that store is greyed out with padlocks — the only page you can open is My Account.

Note: A store stays visible for 14 days after it expires. If it has been longer than that and you can't see it, contact support and we'll bring it back.

How to reactivate the store

  1. In the store switcher at the top of the page, select the store tagged Expired.
  2. Click Update Payment in the red banner (or click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose My Account).
  3. On the My Account page, add or update your card:
    • Stripe billing: click Manage Billing to open the secure billing portal and add your card under Payment methods.
    • Chargebee billing: add your card directly on the page.
  4. Choose your plan and subscribe.

Once payment succeeds, the store reactivates automatically within a minute or two. The red banner and padlocks clear and the full menu returns. Refresh the page if it doesn't update straight away.

Multi-store companies

If you run several stores and open them one at a time, each store needs its own card and plan. A newly opened store that hasn't been set up with payment will expire and show as Expired until you complete the steps above for that store — switch to it first, then update its payment.

Still stuck?

If you've updated payment and the store still shows as expired after a few minutes, contact support with the store name — we can check the subscription status on our side.
