When the Kitchen Display and Order Hub Clear Down Each Day

Last verified: 2026-07-19

The trading day runs 4am to 4am

Your Kitchen Display and the POS Order Hub show the current trading day rather than the calendar day. The day rolls over at 4:00am in your store's local time, not at midnight.

This matches how a late-night kitchen actually works. If you take an order at 11:50pm and it is still being cooked at 12:05am, it belongs to the same shift — so it stays on the screen alongside everything else from that evening's service.

Note: This applies to the Kitchen Display, the POS Order Hub tabs, the receipts list and the driver dispatch screens. They all share the same idea of "today".

What happens at 4am

At 4:00am the screens clear down and start the new trading day. From that point:

  • Completed orders from the previous evening are no longer listed.
  • Anything still in progress stays on screen (see below).

Nothing is deleted. Past orders remain available in Reports and in the order history as normal — the trading day only controls what the live screens show.

Orders being prepared never disappear

An order that is still in progress will not drop off the Kitchen Display at any boundary, midnight or 4am. It stays visible until your staff bump it as prepared.

This means:

  1. An order taken at 11:50pm and still cooking is on the screen at 12:05am.
  2. It is still on the screen at 4:05am if it has not been bumped.
  3. Once a member of staff bumps it, it clears in the normal way.

If an unbumped order is still showing the following day, it is a sign it was never marked as prepared on the KDS — bump it to clear it.

Stores that close after 4am

The 4am rollover assumes your kitchen is shut by then. If you trade past 4:00am, contact support so we can review the boundary for your store.

Note: On the spring clock change in March, the rollover lands at 5:00am local time for that one morning. Stores are shut at that hour, so this has no practical effect.
