Show Your VAT Number on Receipts

What this setting does

If your business is VAT registered, your receipts usually need to show your VAT registration number. Two settings work together to make that happen:

  • Show VAT — turns the VAT line on the receipt on or off.
  • VAT Registration Number — the number itself, printed as VAT # GB123456789.

Both now live on the same page, so you can set them together.

Note: The VAT Registration Number field used to live on Setup > Store Details. It has moved to Setup > In-Store > Receipts to sit alongside the Show VAT toggle that controls it. Your existing number has been kept — you don't need to re-enter it.

How to set it up

These settings are per-store, at Store level (select the store in the top-right switcher first).

  1. Go to Setup > In-Store > Receipts.
  2. In the Display Options section, turn Show VAT on.
  3. In the VAT Registration Number box just below, enter your number (for example, GB123456789).
  4. Click Save.

The VAT line appears on new orders from that point. If you have a till or kiosk that has been running for a while, restart the app so it picks up the updated store settings.

Troubleshooting

Show VAT is on, but no VAT number prints on my till or kiosk receipts. Check that the VAT Registration Number box actually has a number in it — Show VAT on its own only turns the line on; there must also be a number to print. Go to Setup > In-Store > Receipts and confirm both.

If you previously entered your VAT number on the old Store Details page and it never printed on your till or kiosk receipts, this is now fixed. Open Setup > In-Store > Receipts, check the number is there, make sure Show VAT is on, and restart your till app.

I can't find the VAT Registration Number field on Store Details. It moved — it's now on Setup > In-Store > Receipts, under Display Options.

The Receipts page is greyed out or missing. Receipts is a Store-level page. Make sure a store is selected in the top-right switcher — at Company level it won't appear.

I've changed the number but the old one still prints. Restart the till or kiosk app so it reloads the store's settings, then place a new test order.
