What customers see
Once a delivery order leaves the kitchen, the Track Order page on your ordering website turns into a live delivery tracker, in the style customers know from Uber Eats. It shows:
- An arrival headline such as "Arriving in 8 min" or "Arriving now", with the courier's name.
- A live map with three pins: your store, the courier, and the customer's door. The courier pin glides along the road as new locations arrive, and the route to the door is drawn on the map.
- A courier card with the courier's name and, for Uber Direct deliveries, a Call button and a Track on Uber link that opens Uber's own tracking page.
- A freshness badge. "Live" means locations are streaming in. "Last seen 3 min ago" means the last location is older than a minute and a half, for example when the driver's phone loses signal.
The tracker appears automatically. Customers don't need to install anything or refresh the page.
Where the locations come from
The tracker works with both ways of delivering orders:
| Delivery method | Where the courier position comes from |
|---|---|
| Your own drivers | The MyFoodFast Driver App. While a driver is on a trip, the app sends their location roughly every 15 seconds. |
| Uber Direct | Uber's courier updates, received through your Uber Direct connection. Customers also get Uber's tracking link and the courier's phone number. |
Note: For your own drivers, the tracker only shows a location while the driver is signed in to the Driver App and the order is on their trip. If a driver delivers without using the app, the page still shows the order status but no courier pin.
What the tracker says at each stage
- Ready to go or Finding a courier — the kitchen has finished. For Uber Direct stores, a courier is being booked. There's no map yet.
- Driver assigned — one of your drivers has been given the order.
- Arriving in N min — the courier is on the way. The map, route and courier card are shown.
- {Name} is here — the driver has marked themselves as arrived. The headline turns green so the customer notices.
- Delivered — the tracker closes and the normal order summary remains.
Why the map might not show
The map itself needs a Google Maps key configured on your ordering website. If it isn't configured, or Google rejects it, customers still get everything else: the arrival time, the courier card, and a journey card showing how far away the courier is and in which direction. Nothing is lost except the map tiles. Contact support if you would like the map enabled on your site.
Frequently asked questions
The arrival time seems off for my own drivers. For your own drivers the arrival time is only shown when the Driver App has provided one. Otherwise the headline reads "On its way" rather than guessing.
Can customers call my own drivers? No. The Call button appears only for Uber Direct couriers, whose phone number Uber shares for the delivery. Your drivers' numbers are never shown to customers.
Does this change checkout or delivery fees? No. Uber Direct fees are recorded on your side only. Customers pay your normal delivery charge.
