How can I expand the touch screen keyboard

Last verified: 2026-03-06

If the on-screen keyboard on your POS terminal is too small, you can resize it using the built-in Windows tools.

Resize the Windows on-screen keyboard

  1. Open the on-screen keyboard by tapping the keyboard icon in the Windows taskbar. If the icon is not visible, right-click the taskbar and select Show touch keyboard button.
  2. Right-click (or long-press) the title bar at the top of the keyboard window.
  3. Select Size from the context menu.
  4. Click and drag any edge or corner of the keyboard to expand it to your preferred size.

Alternative: use Windows Ease of Access settings

  1. Open Windows Settings (press Win + I).
  2. Go to Ease of Access > Keyboard.
  3. Toggle Use the On-Screen Keyboard to On.
  4. The keyboard that opens from this setting can be repositioned and resized by dragging its edges.

Note: If you find the on-screen keyboard difficult to use for extended text entry, consider connecting a physical USB or Bluetooth keyboard to your POS terminal for faster input.
