Ensuring orders are received by POS outside store opening hours

To receive scheduled or future orders outside of trading hours, the POS must remain logged in and connected to the internet.

What to do

  1. After completing your Z read at end of day, log back in to the POS
  2. Do not close the POS application — leave it running
  3. This keeps the POS connected to the server so it can receive orders placed online for the next day

How it works

  • Online orders placed by customers for future delivery or collection are sent to the POS when they are placed
  • If the POS is offline or closed, these orders queue up and arrive when the POS reconnects
  • By keeping the POS logged in overnight, orders appear on the track screen immediately and are ready when the store opens

Note: Make sure the terminal stays powered on and connected to the internet. If the terminal goes to sleep or loses connection, orders will still be received once it reconnects, but there may be a delay.
