The steps are still correct, but the interface may look slightly different in the latest version.

The delivery charge tax setting controls whether VAT is applied to the delivery fee charged to customers. You can set it to either zero-rated or standard-rated depending on your tax obligations.

Prerequisites

Set the delivery charge tax rate

  1. Log in to the Back Office.
  2. Navigate to Setup > Online Ordering > Delivery.
  3. Locate the Delivery Charge Tax setting.
  4. Select one of the following options:
    • Zero rated -- no VAT is applied to the delivery charge.
    • Standard rated -- VAT is applied at the standard rate (e.g. 20% in the UK).
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Update All to publish the change.

Sync the POS

  1. Open MyOrderBox POS on your terminal.
  2. Go to Settings > Sync.
  3. Wait for the sync to complete.

The delivery charge on future orders will now reflect the selected tax rate.

Zero-rated vs standard-rated

  • Zero-rated is commonly used when the delivery charge is treated as a separate service that is exempt from VAT.
  • Standard-rated applies the normal VAT rate to the delivery charge, which is then included in tax reports.

Note: Tax treatment of delivery charges varies by jurisdiction. We strongly recommend consulting your accountant or tax adviser to determine the correct setting for your business.
