Overview
Dine-in orders — restaurant table orders and kiosk Eat In orders — now pause in the Ready tab of the Order Hub once the kitchen has finished them, so a member of staff can run the food to the table and then mark it Served.
This mirrors how collection orders work: the kitchen marks food ready, it waits in Ready, and a staff member completes it when the customer actually has it.
Note: Previously, dine-in orders skipped Ready entirely — bumping a table order off the kitchen screen sent it straight to Completed. Staff had no list of "food is up, needs running to a table". That gap is what this change fixes.
The dine-in order journey
- Scheduled / Pending — the order is placed and sent to the kitchen.
- Pending — the kitchen is preparing it. The order shows as In Kitchen.
- Ready — the kitchen bumps the order off the expo screen. It moves into the Ready tab and shows as Ready to Serve. This is your "run it to the table" list.
- Completed — a staff member taps Served. The order moves to Completed.
Marking a dine-in order as served
- Go to the Order Hub.
- Open the Ready tab. Table and Eat In orders that the kitchen has finished appear here alongside collection and delivery orders.
- Select the order to see its details.
- Take the food to the table.
- Tap the Served button at the bottom of the order.
The order moves to the Completed tab.
Note: If the order hasn't been paid yet, tapping Served prompts you to take payment first. This is the normal eat-then-pay table flow — the customer eats, you tap Served, and the payment screen opens.
Completing several orders at once
The Complete All button on the Ready tab advances every paid order in that tab in one tap — including dine-in orders, which become Served.
Note: Only use Complete All when the food has genuinely reached the tables. It marks orders as served without checking each one individually.
Troubleshooting
Table orders still go straight to Completed
Your store may not have received this update yet. Bumped dine-in orders should show as Ready to Serve in the Ready tab. If they still land in Completed, contact support and mention that the dine-in Ready to Serve status isn't active on your store.
A bumped table order isn't in the Ready tab
Check the kitchen actually bumped it off the expo screen, not just the prep station. Only an expo bump advances the order status. See How Orders Reach the Kitchen for how orders move between stations.
The Ready tab is empty or won't load
Pull to refresh, or switch tabs and come back. If it stays empty while you know there are live orders, restart the POS app and contact support.
