Setting up the Zebra GK420d Printer
-
Install the Zebra Utility Software from here
-
Once installed, follow the setup till you get to the interface screen
-
To add a new printer press Install New Printer
-
Press Next and you will be asked what you want to do, like so;
-
Click Install Printer
-
Select the model - in this case it’s ZDesigner GK420d
-
Click Next
-
On this screen click Add Port
-
Next, you need to do 2 things;
-
Look underneath your printer, and search for the MAC Address. It should look something like this: AB:CD:EF:GH:IJ:KL (Note that down).
-
Connect your printer to the network via ethernet cable.
-
Go back to the Add Port window that should look like this;
-
Type your MAC Address into the first box, after LAN_
-
Go into your router settings, and look for an IP Address not in use, in this case I used 192.168.1.140
-
Leave the Port Number as it is and press OK > Next
-
If you wish to install the Zebra Font Downloader leave the box checked, if not uncheck it and press Finish.
-
It should now Install the drivers and show up in the Utility window.
-
Now that the setup has been complete you can use the printer as normal (bare in mind the dimensions, which can be changed in ‘Configure Printer Settings’).
-
Jobe done!
