Setting up the Zebra GK420d Printer

  • Install the Zebra Utility Software from here

  • Once installed, follow the setup till you get to the interface screen

  • To add a new printer press Install New Printer

  • Press Next and you will be asked what you want to do, like so;

  • Click Install Printer

  • Select the model - in this case it’s ZDesigner GK420d

  • Click Next

  • On this screen click Add Port

  • Next, you need to do 2 things;

  • Look underneath your printer, and search for the MAC Address. It should look something like this: AB:CD:EF:GH:IJ:KL (Note that down).

  • Connect your printer to the network via ethernet cable.

  • Go back to the Add Port window that should look like this;

  • Type your MAC Address into the first box, after LAN_

  • Go into your router settings, and look for an IP Address not in use, in this case I used 192.168.1.140

  • Leave the Port Number as it is and press OK > Next

  • If you wish to install the Zebra Font Downloader leave the box checked, if not uncheck it and press Finish.

  • It should now Install the drivers and show up in the Utility window.

  • Now that the setup has been complete you can use the printer as normal (bare in mind the dimensions, which can be changed in ‘Configure Printer Settings’).

  • Jobe done!
