Set delivery charges by postcode

Last verified: 2026-10-28

Instead of drawing delivery zones on a map, you can list the postcodes you deliver to, each with its own delivery charge and minimum order.

Most stores use delivery zones. Use postcodes if your website has Google Maps Polygons switched off, or if a store still uses the older MyOrderBox POS, which can't use zones.

Add a postcode

  1. Select the store and go to Setup > Online Ordering > Delivery > Postcodes.
  2. Click Add Postcode and fill in:
    • Postcode: the start of the postcodes you deliver to. See How postcodes are matched.
    • City: for example London.
    • Minimum Order (£): the smallest basket you accept for delivery to this area. Enter 0 for no minimum.
    • Delivery Charge (£): what the customer pays for delivery.
    • Free Delivery Over (£): delivery is free when the basket reaches this amount. Leave it at 0 if delivery is never free.
    • Active: leave it on.
  3. Save.

To stop delivering to an area for now, edit it and switch off Active. To remove it completely, delete it.

How postcodes are matched

A customer's postcode matches every entry it starts with, ignoring capital letters. Type an underscore _ wherever the postcode has a space:

You enterMatchesDoesn't match
N17_N17 6RG, N17 0ABN1 7AA
N1_N1 7AA, N1 0XYN17 6RG
SW1A_1AAOnly SW1A 1AAAnything else

Always end an area code with _ (for example N1_, not N1). Without it, N1 would also match N10 to N19.

If a postcode matches more than one entry, the longer one is used. So you can charge a different fee for one full postcode inside a wider area, for example N1_7AA at £1.00 and N1_ at £2.50. This only works when you type the space as _ in both.
