Refunding an order paid in parts
When a customer pays for one order using more than one payment, each payment has its own refundable balance.
For example, a £12 order paid using two £6 card payments is Partially refunded after you refund the first £6 payment. The other £6 payment is still available to refund. The order's fulfilment status stays as it was while some payment remains.
The order becomes Refunded when all money paid towards it has been returned. The refund total includes refunds across payment methods, including cash.
Refunding a payment in smaller amounts
You can return a payment in parts. After refunding £2 and then £4 from one £6 payment, that payment has no refundable balance left. Other payments on the order keep their own remaining balances.
Note: If a refund reports an error or its result is unclear, check the payment provider's refund record and contact support before trying again. An error does not necessarily mean that no money was returned.
